Business Digital Investment
West Dunbartonshire Council
The aim of the Digital Investment Grant is to provide businesses located within West Dunbartonshire with financial support to assist them with the development and implementation of new digital systems which aim to improve business performance and enable business growth. This is a discretionary funding programme and will provide up to 30% of the business’s digital expenditure, to a maximum of £3,000.
Business Eligibility:
• All types of business may apply, i.e. Sole Trader, Partnership or Limited Company. • Businesses must be located and trading in West Dunbartonshire • Businesses must have less than 50 employees at the time of their application. • Businesses must have been trading for at least 12 months at the time of making their application. • Businesses must clearly demonstrate how their digital project will improve their business performance and will safeguard or increase employment.
• Businesses must provide up to date financial accounts or most recent management accounts • Businesses must demonstrate the commercial viability of the project • Businesses must not have any debt owed to the Council.
Project Eligibility:
The digital project should be new to the business and not a continuation of existing business processes. The following expenditure is eligible:-
• Purchasing software ie. a new product not currently used by the business, or an upgrade of an existing product with additional features • Purchasing hardware related to the digital project • Upgrading digital connectivity/broadband • Building Ecommerce websites • App development costs (through an external contractor) The Digital Investment Grant will NOT cover the cost of:- • Building or maintaining informational/brochure websites • Software rental • Renewals of existing product or software licences, or minor updates to existing products (for example, a software version update) • Hardware that is a replacement to existing hardware i.e. through wear and tear • Consumable items (i.e. toner/ink printer cartridges) • Products purchased through a third party that are not licensed to the applicant for its own use
