Overview

The generous estate gift from John Allan Turner was given to the Ontario Veterinary College to support its greatest asset, its students. The award is named after John’s daughter, Barbara Turner Rutherford. The recipient will present a proposed externship plan that best demonstrates the benefits to their veterinary education and to their understanding of another province’s veterinary economy through participation in the externship opportunity. Students must submit an application including a CV, letter of intent, and letter of acceptance from the supervisor of the student in the host practice attesting to the value of the proposed educational experience to the OVC Associate Dean's Office.

Eligibility

Students registered in Phase 3 of the DVM program at the Ontario Veterinary College who will be engaged in an externship outside of Ontario, but within Canada, during the summer between Phases 3 and 4.
