Small Project and Travel Awards
Universities Federation for Animal Welfare
Through its Small Projects and Travel Awards (up to £3,500), UFAW supports a variety of activities for the benefit of animal welfare. Applications may be made for the purchase of equipment, for the organisation of (and, sometimes, to support attendance at) educational meetings, lectures and courses, and for publication, translation or transmission of information on animal welfare and for other small projects in support of UFAW’s objectives.
UFAW is concerned with the welfare of farm, companion, laboratory, and captive wild animals and with free-living wild animals whose welfare is compromised by humans.
UFAW is an international charity and will fund work anywhere in the world where useful animal welfare research can be carried out – applications are welcome from researchers based in any country. However, some schemes such as the Student Scholarships or Research Training Scholarship are only open to academic institutions which are members of the UFAW LINK scheme – see https://www.ufaw.org.uk/links for a current list.
