Fraisthorpe Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

The Fraisthorpe Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund is being made available by Octopus Solutions, the developers of the Fraisthorpe wind farm. The fund will support projects that improve the local quality of life and community resources for residents who live in the parish council areas of Barmston and Fraisthorpe, Carnaby and part of the area served by Bridlington town council that sits south of the Spa
Priority will be given to projects that:
Enhance quality of life for local residents
Contribute to vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable communities
Promote community spirit and encourage community activity Larger grants and multi-year requests could include but are not limited to:-
Refurbishment of community buildings or other local assets
Community transport or digital projects for isolated areas
Community leisure facilities
Outreach & support services for people in rural isolation
Size of grants Grants are available of between £500 and £10,000
Please note there are 2 separate application forms, one for small grants up to £2,000 and one for large grants over £2,001
Eligibility:
Groups must: Be a voluntary organisation, community group, small charity or other type of not for profit organisation with charitable aims Have a constitution or governing document Have been in existence for at least 6 months Have a bank account in the name of the group The Fraisthorpe Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund welcomes applications from charitable and voluntary groups with very few exceptions. The information below applies to all applicants.
Who can apply? Who cannot apply / what work will not be supported?
Registered charities Smaller groups and parish councils, that may not be registered as a charity provided that the purpose of the grant is wholly charitable and in the case of a parish council that the project is outside of its usual remit. Other types of not for profit organisation for work which is wholly charitable. Priority will be given to work which: Addresses needs identified by local people Fulfils needs not already being met Supports community involvement Demonstrates a commitment to equal opportunities through activity Projects where the grant covers a significant proportion of the costs
