Overview

Our Support:

Our communities team provide support to the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector organisations in two ways: Community Capacity Building and Grant Funding.

Your organisation can access both types of support if your work benefits people in our communities and meets at least one of our priorities:

  • Children and young people: Children and young people living in our communities are better equipped with skills, knowledge and attitude to thrive in life.
  • Maximising income/reducing costs: Residents' incomes are increased and maximised, supporting them to live independently.
  • Wellbeing, both mental and physical:Residents are more resilient to changes in personal circumstances through increased levels of wellbeing.
  • Community: Residents feel more connected with their local community, with local amenities and cultural and social opportunities to meet their needs.
Eligibility

How Community Grants and Support work :

  • You can have two funding applications approved per year, with a project schedule of up to two years.
  • Your funded work needs to respond to an identified need for people in Trafford and make a positive difference for people relevant to those needs.
  • We are keen to maintain long term relationships with organisations.
  • We are flexible funders – if your funded project faces changes or barriers, we will support you in adapting your work to achieve maximum impact.
  • We are interested in how your work can reach THT residents. We are not expecting all of your customers or service users to be THT residents, but we would like to support you in making sure your project is promoted in the areas where we have THT properties.
  • Resilience is essential for organisations to thrive. Our capacity builders can support you by encouraging you to build mixed-income streams, maximise resources, strengthen core services, develop new projects and evidence impact.
  • We are keen to avoid organisations solely dependent on us as funders. For this reason, we would not usually award a large grant application exceeding 40% of your organisation's annual turnover.
  • If applications request funding over 40% of annual turnover, we will explore this with you on a case-by-case basis.
