BECK BERLIN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk
Beck Berlin is a new scholarship program of the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk and the Beck'schen Foundation. The scholarship was awarded for the first time on October 1, 2020. Beck Berlin sponsors Israeli students and doctoral candidates who want to study and do their doctorate at a Berlin university and provide them with ideal and material support.
The scholarship enables intensive academic, cultural and religious exchange within the ELES scholarship holders and offers access to a network of renowned Jewish scientists and personalities from public and cultural life.
The scholarship holders participate in the non-material funding of ELES. This offers space for scientific and social debate. Within the framework of colleges, workshops and evening events, topics that are of particular relevance for the Jewish communities in the German and European diaspora as well as in Israel can be worked on and reflected upon.
The scholarships are initially awarded for 12 months. An extension is possible. Funding for study or research stays abroad is excluded from the funding. The scholarship holders live in Berlin and can get to know Germany and its lively and diverse capital. All scholarship holders have the opportunity to complete a German course in Berlin after the start of the scholarship. All funding recipients receive individual advice and support from an experienced ELES consultant. In addition, the ELES liaison lecturers are available for questions and problems.
