Overview

The Community Mental Health Framework for Adults and Older Adults (CMHF) model means that NHS community mental health services will be developed with community organisation working together in a seamless way, with people who use services at the centre of service provision and much more involved in their own care and support.

You may apply for a grant between £1,000 and £20,000 Grant applications will seek to support people (*with) Severe Mental illness (SMI) from one or more above under-represented groups and will support them to access to services, support them to express how services could be shaped to improve experiences and goals for people from that under-represented group.

If your organisation is working to support adults in Staffordshire suffering from mental health related issues, then you could be eligible to apply for this programme. The criteria below provides further information on eligibility and support available.

Eligibility

Types of Organisation We Will Fund We will support the following types of organisation;

  • Constituted Voluntary groups
  • Constituted Community groups.
  • Registered Charities
  • Social Enterprises
  • Limited companies are not eligible to apply to this programme.

Beneficiaries We Can Support;

In this first round of grant funding there will be system-wide focus on under-represented groups that were the result of a detailed local data analysis. These include:

  • Men over 40 years
  • Muslim and Eastern European communities, inclusive of individuals/families seeking asylum.
  • Older Adults (65year+)
  • Young Adults (18-25 years)
  • LGBTQ+
  • People with co-occurring needs and substance use.
  • People with disabilities
  • Travelling Communities
  • Veterans

Definition of SMI: The phrase severe mental illness (SMI) is defined as someone over the age of 18 who has a mental, behavioural, or emotional disorder that causes serious functional impairment that substantially interferes with or limits one or more major life activities

Any organisation/s awarded grant funding will be required to register their organisation and services on Staffordshire Connects (where a service is delivered in any of the eight Staffordshire Districts) and/or the Stoke-on-Trent Community Directory (where a service is delivered in Stoke-on-Trent).
