Overview

This grant programme is open to all groups in North Somerset that offer activities and projects supporting older people.

What is Quartet Community Foundation? Quartet Community Foundation manages funding on behalf of individuals, companies, charitable trusts and statutory agencies. This enables us to make grants to charitable groups in the West of England.

What is St Monica Trust? St Monica Trust’s mission is to support and celebrate the lives of older people. The Trust has five retirement communities across Bristol and North Somerset, providing an extensive range of services including care homes, care at home and physiotherapy. The Trust’s Community Fund aims to keep people independent and living in their own community for as long as possible. We do this by helping individuals and families to buy the essential things they need or supporting them through a crisis.

What can you apply for? To be eligible for a grant from the North Somerset Older People’s Community Grant Programme your work/activity must benefit older people in North Somerset. Projects should aim to reduce social isolation. Projects can include a re-imagined way of working due to Covid restrictions/impact.

How much do we award? The average grant award size is £10,000

Examples of previous awards • £5,971 to purchase previously rented equipment to provide cinema nights within residential homes • £2,000 for an outreach worker to encourage older people to join a local social group • £1,700 for Older People’s group relieving isolation

This grant programme is open for applications all year.
