Norfolk Youth Music Trust
Norfolk Community Foundation
The grant will help the development of highly-talented Norfolk-based young musicians to pursue careers as professionals by offering annual grants and occasional public-performing opportunities. Successful applicants will already be highly skilled in one or more of the six disciplines (strings, brass, keyboard, percussion, voice and woodwinds) and will be either undergoing a period of study at a music college or specialist school, or who have made plans to do so.
Applicants can apply for up to £500 from the fund, and applications can be accepted at any time while the Fund is open.
Your application for a grant can only be considered for: • assistance in meeting tuition fees whilst attending a college, school or university for further education in music, including travelling expenses; • assistance in meeting the cost of promoting yourself as a solo performer in a public recital; • assistance in meeting tuition fees whilst attending a course of advanced music tuition, including travelling expenses; and • assistance in meeting the cost of attending a masterclass or summer school, including travelling expenses.
Your application cannot be considered: • If you are over 25 years of age; • If, as a performer, you fall outside one of the six main disciplines (Brass, Keyboard, Percussion, Strings, Voice and Woodwind); • If your home is outside the county of Norfolk, notwithstanding that your music studies may be taken within the county; and • for either the purchase of a new instrument, or the cost of repairing your instrument, or the cost of music scores.
