�NIH Institutes and Centers intends to reissue the Stephen I. Katz Early Stage Investigator Research Project Grant. The Katz award supports an innovative project that represents a change in research direction for an early stage investigator (ESI) and for which no preliminary data exist. Applications submitted to this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) must not include preliminary data. This Funding Opportunity does not accept applications proposing clinical trials. This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects.� The NOFO is expected to be published in November 2023 with an expected application due date in January 2024.� �Details of the planned NOFO are provided below.
