Overview

Nominate an adult caring for one or more individuals over the age of 18, who are seeking a break from their long term caring responsibilities. The fund will consider requests via a referral from a professional for various forms of respite including; short holidays (up to one week), weekend breaks, pamper days and day trips. Contributions towards travel costs to and from the break as well as a modest amount of spending money if the request includes an overnight stay will be considered - to be decided on a case-by-case basis.

Examples of professionals that can nominate an individual or family include (but are not limited to): charity employees, social workers, GPs and specialist doctors, occupational therapists or teachers.

Eligibility

Please note, only a small number of Kent Community Foundation (KCF) funds offer support to individuals or families experiencing financial difficulties. You can apply for funding at anytime. We aim to process requests within 4-6 weeks.

• We are only able to consider individual cases if nominated by a qualifying organisation or professional (if you would like to discuss who is able to nominate, please get in touch before completing the form) • We will contact the nominator for the request directly to supply any further information. • There must be a demonstratable financial disadvantage underlying the request (e.g. the family are reliant on benefits or out of work for whatever reason)
