Overview

The award recipient will support the development and implementation of mechanisms to provide reimbursement of qualified expenses effectively and efficiently in accordance with established program eligibility guidelines. The award recipient will engage stakeholders such as transplant centers, dialysis centers, patients on the transplant waiting list, and organizations working on behalf of individuals needing transplants to develop policies and procedures to operate the program. The award recipient will also be responsible for coordinating efforts with the award recipient under HRSA-24-101 to support education efforts to increase public awareness about this program and living organ donation. It is expected that the award recipient will collaborate with HRSA to support any evaluation efforts to assess the overall program impact and identify gaps and opportunities to support routine performance improvement activities.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include states, transplant centers, qualified organ procurement organizations (OPOs) under section 273 of the Public Health Service Act, or other public or private entities. Faith-based and community-based, Tribes, and tribal organizations can apply.
