Carl Zeiss Foundation Fund for the Appointment of International Researchers
German Scholars Organization
Talents for Germany - The program supports German universities to recruit researchers from abroad by making more competitive offers. The funding is available to both established and Tenure Track professors, and includes an optional Dual Career component.
The program supports professorships (W3 and W1/W2 Tenure Track W3) for excellent researchers in the STEM subjects and Business Administration who have been working abroad for at least two years at the time of the application submission (German and non-German citizens). Host public universities in Baden-Wurttemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Thuringia are eligible to apply.
It is our goal to enable both established and Tenure Track professors to receive an attractive starting package, while also supporting the professional future of their partner/spouse in Germany through a Dual Career component.
Funding up to €200,000 is available for each professorship (including Dual Career funding of up to €80,000). The funding can be used for multiple kinds of expenses, however, individual allowances can not be covered.
The Dual Career funding may be used for a “bridge position” at the university, for language courses, coachings etc. We expect a detailed concept of integrating the partner with the help of existing university structures.
For more information on requirements please visit the page of “Carl-Zeiss-Stiftungs-Fonds” (in German).
Applications have to be submitted by the university board. There is no deadline. Please hand in the application at any time.
If you are a researcher and enter appointment negotiations at an eligible university, please do not hesitate to mention the opportunity of applying to the program.
