Small grants for sports clubs in West Dorset

If you or your organisation provides sports opportunities for people living in the Dorset Council area, you can apply for a grant.
Grants of £50 to £250 are available to support existing or new clubs.
What can be funded?
The grant can be used to fund:
- start-up costs for sports clubs
- governing body training course fees, first aid, safety and grounds maintenance course fees
- taster sessions/coaching days by voluntary sector clubs
-Start up new clubs or junior sections within existing clubs. -Introduce mini versions of traditional sports (particularly football and rugby) and encourage girls to participate. -More volunteers taking coaching and first aid qualifications. -Benefit young people, elderly people, people on low incomes or people living in rural areas and particularly women and disabled people who are generally under represented in terms of sports participation. -Benefit people living in one of the ‘sports action zones’ (all six towns plus Broadmayne/ West Knighton, Burton Bradstock, Charminster, Crossways, Maiden Newton, Puddletown, Thorncombe, Thornford and Yetminster.
Who can apply? Individuals or organisations provided that:
- They operate in the West Dorset area of Dorset Council and for the benefit of people living there.
- The project/event has not taken place.
- The project/event is not for profit.
- The applicant has not made an application to this scheme in the same financial year.
- The event/project covers a sport defined as such by Sport England.
