Looker Energy Environmental Fund

Up to £7,500 for groups and £200 for individuals engaged in projects that either protect the environment or educate the public about the environment in Godmanchester.
Looker Energy own and operate a 500kW capacity wind turbine about a mile to the south east of Godmanchester, which has been generating electricity since September 2015 and is contributing to the development of a low carbon economy. To encourage people in their local community who share their concern for the environment, Looker Energy will make a contribution every year to The Looker Energy Environmental Fund, directly related to the amount of renewable energy they have produced.
The Looker Energy Environmental Fund makes grants to projects that
– promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, including action designed to mitigate the effects of climate change, in the civil parish of Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire and in Port Holme in the civil parish of Brampton, Cambridgeshire
OR
– advance the education of the public living working and studying in the civil parish of Godmanchester in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, including action designed to mitigate the effects of climate change.
Grants to Individuals:
Individuals who live in the area served by the Fund can apply for an Educational Grant of up to £200.
Educational Grants are available to assist in the study or research of the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, especially with respect to mitigating the effects of climate change.
