Overview

This programme is provided by Help Musicians UK (HMUK). HMUK is an independent charity providing help, support and opportunities to empower musicians at all stages of their lives.

The programme is designed to help professional musicians build their careers by providing grants opportunities, allowing them to focus on developing their artistic practice and furthering their professional development at a crucial point in their career.

Grants of up to £1,500 are available.

Successful applicants must deliver their supported activities within 12 months of grant acceptance.

Applications may be made at any time.

Eligibility

The fund is open to emerging and professional musicians of all genres and disciplines. The applicant can be a solo instrumentalist, composer, producer, conductor, vocalist, singer-songwriter, etc. The funder can also support bands or ensembles with six members or fewer.

In order to apply, the applicant must:

  • Be aged over 18.
  • Be in financial need without significant backing (ie not receiving significant financial backing from a label, publisher or private investor, and not having £16,000+ in savings).
  • Have control over one or more aspects of your career (eg self-managing, self-releasing or self-producing).
  • Already have an active career and be able to clearly demonstrate their work to date.
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK.
