Overview

This programme is funded by the Welsh Government and operated by Lantra.

This £3 million funding package for ‘Food Skills Cymru’ is designed to increase the number of skilled workers in the food and drink industry after Brexit.

The initiative will provide technical and staff development training for food and drink companies based and operating in Wales. It will include accredited and non-accredited training, coupled with in-house company bespoke support. Over the first three years, the programme is expected to support 650 businesses.

The amount of funding available for completing training courses is dependent on the size of the business.

  • Micro businesses up to 80% (1 – 10 employees)
  • Small and medium employers up to 70% (11 – 249 employees)
  • Large organisations up to 50% (> 250 employees)
Eligibility

All food supply chain businesses operating outside of retail will qualify and intervention rates will be in line with the complementary support offered through Business Wales Skills Gateway, Project Helix and Cywain.
