Overview

This programme is funded by the Welsh Government and administered through Business Wales.

hrough the Flexible Skills Programme, the Welsh Government is awarding funding to support employees of Wales-based tourism and hospitality businesses. The money will enable staff to attend training courses that are relevant to their sector. This can include face-to-face, or online training.

There is no requirement to use any particular training company - the applicant may choose any certified training provider. The supported training must be accredited to a recognised industry standard.

The programmes may be able to help businesses with financial support towards upskilling staff.

April 2022: The programme is being funded for a further three years. It operates across Wales and is open to all employers across two streams:

  • The Business Development stream supports significant employer-led projects which have a focus on upskilling the workforce.
  • The Partnership Project stream aims to drive Wales’ wider skills economy by enabling a group of employers or representative bodies to help Wales overcome a skills challenge or develop the skills needed to drive future economic development.

All approved training courses will attract a 50% contribution from the Welsh Government, capped at £25,000, towards the total eligible costs.

There is no set deadline.

Interested parties wishing to apply for this funding are required to complete the Expression of Interest form. A member of the ‘Skills team’ will respond as soon as possible and no later than 10 working days.
