OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. BJA is authorized to distribute funds to help offset the costs of an adequate response to an uncommon situation which requires law enforcement, which is or threatens to become of serious or epidemic proportions, and with respect to which state and local resources are inadequate to protect the lives and property of citizens, or to enforce the criminal law. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services and Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration are the eligible applicants for this solicitation. All recipients and subrecipients (including any for-profit organization) must forgo any profit or management fee.
