What is the Bermondsey Square Community Fund?

The Trust collects money from the occupiers and owners of Bermondsey Square through the occupiers’ leases and awards grants for ‘the marketing, animation and promotion of the Bermondsey Square Estate and making a positive contribution to the wider neighbourhood and community of Bermondsey.’

The Bermondsey Square Community Fund expects to spend around £40,000 each year. We have no maximum or minimum size of grant but prefer applications between £500 and £2,500.

Eligibility

The Trust’s priorities will change from time to time. The current themes are:

  • Health, Happiness and Well-being
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Creativity

We will prioritise applications that:

  • Are close to Bermondsey Square
  • Affect large numbers of people
  • Attract other funding
  • Are for continuing rather than one-off activities
  • Are simple to administer

Applications that make use of the public space in Bermondsey Square are particularly encouraged.
