Barchester's Charitable Foundation Individual

We help individuals with mobility equipment, activities, vocational courses, UK based holidays or a special day out. The application form must be completed by a third party who knows the individual in a professional or community-based capacity. Before starting the application, make sure to have a supplier's quote that confirms the cost of the item you are applying for and medical evidence that confirms the individual's disability or medical condition, ready to upload.

Grants will not be made to named individuals for:

• Disability and exercise equipment for use in the home, including specialist chairs and beds
• Repairs and maintenance of mobility equipment
• Home improvements, adaptations and property repairs, including gardens and ramps
• Household items, such as white goods, furniture and carpeting
• or dental treatment, including any type of therapy, counselling or rehabilitation
• Cars, driving lessons, removal costs or holidays abroad
• Laptops, computers and iPads
• Daily living costs (e.g. rent, utility bills, clothing, mobile phones, travel costs) or repayment of debts
• Equipment for residents in a care home operated by Barchester Healthcare or by any other care home company

We help people and groups based in England, Scotland and Wales.

Our funding focus is about connecting or re-connecting people with others in their local community. We support applications that combat loneliness and enable people to be active and engaged.

We help individuals, but please note that all applications for named individuals must be completed by a third party who knows the individual in a professional or community-based capacity.

We help individuals with:

• Mobility equipment
• Activities
• Vocational courses, if no statutory funding or Student Finance available
• UK based holidays or a special day out.

We also help small community groups and small local charities. We do not have a formal definition for a small charity, but if a charity has financial reserves in the hundreds of thousands or millions, it is very unlikely that we would be able to help.
