Description of Bursary
Awarded to an Athabasca University student or students with an identified learning, physical, or mental disability. A disability is a functional limitation resulting from physical, sensory or mental impairment, which, for an indefinite period, affects the ability of the student to perform the activities necessary to participate fully in post-secondary learning.
Candidates must be participating in undergraduate or graduate coursework at Athabasca University. Preference will be given to students in an Athabasca University degree, diploma, or certificate program who have made noteworthy progress towards graduation and who have an identified financial need for funding assistance. Students are eligible to receive this award one time only.
Conditions of Eligibility
An applicant must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply for this bursary; • Current Athabasca University undergraduate or graduate student. • Have an identified learning, physical, or mental disability, as defined in the description of the access fund above. • Student must be registered with the AU – Accessibility Services Department • Demonstrate financial need
