ACS Bridge Travel & Professional Development Award
American Chemical Society
Purpose:
To defray registration and travel costs for underrepresented students to attend the ACS Fall Meeting 2023. Description This award will cover the registration, travel, and lodging costs for applicants who would like to attend the ACS Fall Meeting 2023.
For Undergraduate Students:
The award is open to undergraduate students interested in the chemical sciences and are from groups traditionally underrepresented in the Chemical Sciences. Namely, underrepresented groups include Black, Latinx, and Indigenous. The goal of this professional development award is to increase the number of UR students that gain access to doctoral programs in the chemical sciences. The professional development award will defray the cost of the ACS Fall Meeting 2023. Each award will be for up to $2,000 of eligible expenses based on the review of materials.
Application Packet (Online application process)
- Completed application which includes a cover letter stating how and why attending the ACS Fall Meeting 2023 will help your overall career and professional development goals.
- Curriculum vitae or resume
- One-page document listing all of the expenses related to the ACS Fall Meeting 2023 (costs related to registration, travel, lodging, etc.)
- A letter of recommendation from the student’s mentor explaining why the student deserves the award and how it will help with the student's overall professional development.
Requirements
- U.S. citizen
- Undergraduate student in the chemical sciences.
For Graduate Students:
The award is open to students who are pursuing a graduate degree in the chemical sciences and are from groups traditionally underrepresented in the Chemical Sciences. Namely, underrepresented groups include Black, Latinx, and Indigenous. The goal of this award is to advance the career and professional development of graduate students. The professional development award will defray the cost of the ACS Fall Meeting 2023. Each award will be for up to $2,000 of eligible expenses based on the review of materials.
