ACS Award in Analytical Chemistry

Purpose
To recognize and encourage outstanding contributions to the science of analytical chemistry, pure or applied, carried out in the United States or Canada.
Description
The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed.
History
The Fisher Scientific Co. established the award in 1947 and continued sponsorship through 2002. The ACS sponsored the award in 2003. The Battelle Memorial Institute sponsored the award from 2004 to 2021. The ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry began sponsoring the award in 2022.

Eligibility
A nominee must have made an outstanding contribution to analytical chemistry. Special consideration will be given to independence of thought and originality or to the importance of the work when applied to public welfare, economics, or the needs and desires of humanity. The award will be granted regardless of race, gender, age, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, presence of disabilities, and educational background.
