Improving Methods for Conducting Research with People with Cognitive Disabilities in Virtual Environments
Administration for Community Living
The purpose of the DRRPs is to achieve the goals of, and improve the effectiveness of, services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act, by generating new knowledge, or developing methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technologies that advance a wide range of health and function, community living, and employment outcomes among people with disabilities, especially people with disabilities who have the greatest support needs. Under this particular DRRP priority, the grantee must conduct research toward the development of rigorous research methods and approaches that can be used in virtual environments to enable people with cognitive disabilities to share valid, reliable, and meaningful data about their experiences and outcomes. People with cognitive disabilities may include but are not limited to those with intellectual or developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, traumatic brain injury, dementia, or stroke. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity in FY 2023. This grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods
